The lecture and the meditation class are different pedagogical formats which share the desire of the transformation of the subject. Both could be seen as inadequate, proliferating a high performance culture, boosting the participant’s capability to work \u2013 intelligently and efficiently. But can we use them to find a way to perform with our own agency? Following an anarchaeological approach, images from the past will perform on us. We will close our eyes, we will hear many tongues. We might lose our heads, and find others to put on. Likewise: forepart lion, rearpart snake, middle she-goat.<\/p>\n

Elena Strempek is an artist and art historian, who works across the disciplines through research-based performance. She currently studies “Critical and Pedagogical Studies” at Malmo Art Academy. “Chimaera Class” is her graduation project.

F\u00f6rel\u00e4sningen och meditationsklassen \u00e4r tv\u00e5 vitt skilda “pedagogiska” format, men som b\u00e5da delar \u00f6nskan om att omvandla subjektet. <\/span>B\u00e5da kan ses som otillr\u00e4ckliga, som delar av en h\u00f6gprestationskultur, som i v\u00e4rsta fall vill \u00f6ka deltagarens f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga att arbeta effektivt. <\/span>Men kan vi anv\u00e4nda f\u00f6rel\u00e4sningen och meditationen f\u00f6r att hitta ett s\u00e4tt att handla utifr\u00e5n v\u00e5ra egna f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar? <\/span>Vi anv\u00e4nder oss av ett anarkoarkeologist tillv\u00e4gag\u00e5ngss\u00e4tt som f\u00e5r bilder fr\u00e5n f\u00f6rflutna att komma till oss. <\/span>Vi kommer att blunda, vi kommer att h\u00f6ra m\u00e5nga r\u00f6ster. <\/span>Vi kan f\u00f6rlora v\u00e5ra huvuden, och hitta nya som tar dess plats. <\/span>Och vidare: lejonets framdel, en tveeggad orm, mitten av en honget.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elena Strempek \u00e4r en konstn\u00e4r och konsthistoriker. <\/span>Hon studerar f\u00f6r n\u00e4rvarande vid Masterprogrammet i Kritiska och pedagogiska studier Vid Konsth\u00f6gskolan i Malm\u00f6. <\/span>“Chimaera Class” \u00e4r hennes examensarbete.
