Boukhari \u00e4r en av personerna bakom den sj\u00e4lvst\u00e4ndiga\u00a0plattformen f\u00f6r samtidskonst, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allartnow.com\/\">All Art Now<\/a>. V\u00e4ntan \u00e4r i Boukharis curatoriella arbete ett politiskt, temporalt, socialt och emotionellt tillst\u00e5nd och f\u00f6rmodligen, enligt Boukhari sj\u00e4lv ett av de sv\u00e5raste tillst\u00e5nden att befinna sig i. F\u00f6r vad\u00a0h\u00e4nder med en m\u00e4nniska n\u00e4r den tvingas leva i ovissheten om vad framtiden (inne)b\u00e4r? N\u00e4r en\u00a0tvingas leva i ett limbotillst\u00e5nd och l\u00e4ngtansfullt blickar mot den dag d\u00e5 n\u00e5gonting kommer att ske, d\u00e5 allt kanske kommer att f\u00f6r\u00e4ndras?<\/p>\n<p>I utst\u00e4llningen &#8220;I will never get used to wait&#8221; unders\u00f6ker sju syriska konstn\u00e4rer fr\u00e5gor om och erfarenheter av v\u00e4ntan.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nCuratoriell text:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wait. We are bored&#8230;In an instant all will vanish and we&#8217;ll be alone more, in the midst of nothingness!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Was I sleeping, while the others suffered? Am I sleeping now? Tomorrow, when I wake, or think I do, what shall I say of today?&#8221; <\/span>Samuel Beckett, <em>Waiting For Godot<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The following lines by Beckett inspired me to formulate the concept of &#8220;Waiting during the war&#8221;. To me this seems to be one of the most difficult states to be in, physically as well as psychologically. The absence of action, expecting the worst, living for a unknown better future, remaining inactive or in a state of neglect, postponing your life and longingly looking for the day when &#8220;something\u201d happens that will release you from your seemingly endless state of waiting.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is waiting a temporal state in between or can <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">life itself be considered a case of constant waiting to act? Is waiting painful or doesn`t not know what to do the worst kind of suffering? Is waiting, while we are living and experiencing paradoxical facts and contradictory feelings, a time of neutral behavior because feelings are so confused and unclear? Does waiting in silence, that is the most common reaction to war trauma, represent our experience of all kinds of pain and loss?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the exhibition \u201dI will never get used to wait\u201d seven Syrian artists reflects on the subject of waiting. The artists approach this subject from their individual experience and artistic practice. What they all have in common though, is that they due to war have found themselves forced to either postpone their plans and everyday life or rethink it completely.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the works included in the exhibition was produced some years ago; The work by Nawar Haidar (produced in 2012) express the absurdity of his waiting since 2012 till these moments. The work by Erfan Khalife (produced on 2012), created as a response to my inquiry concerning his long wait as an Palestinian refugee living in Syria.<\/p>\n<p>The artists have produced the other works in the show as a response to the concept of the &#8220;waiting\u201d whether they are still living in Syria or they already left the country.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What do artists think about this period, do they have different points of view about it, its meaning and its value? Boukhari is one of the people behind the autonomous platform for contemporary art, \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.allartnow.com\/\">All Art Now<\/a>. Waiting is in Boukhari&#8217;s curatorial practice a political, temporal, social as well as emotional state. Probably, according to Boukhari herself, one of the most difficult states to be in. What happens when you are forced to live in complete uncertainty of what the future will bring?\u00a0When you are forced to live in a state of limbo, longingly looking towards the day when it all will change?<\/p>\n<p>In the exhibition &#8220;I will never get used to wait&#8221; seven syrian artists explore questions and experiences related to the state of waiting.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Curatorial text:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;We wait. The absence of action, expecting the worst, living for a future, remaining inactive or in a state of neglect for a time, postponing your life and looking forward eagerly to the day &#8220;something&#8221; happens to release from your fear of endless waiting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is the waiting considered as an intervening period of times spending for nothing or is life always a case of waiting to act? Is the waiting painful or doesn`t not know what to do the worst kind of suffering? Is the waiting, while we are living and experiencing paradoxical facts and contradictory feelings, a time of neutral behavior because feelings are so confused and unclear? Does waiting in silence that is the most common reaction to war trauma represent our experience of all kinds of pain and loss?<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This exhibition is a reflection on the subject of waiting that resulted in works by artists from Syria. In the project, the artists engage with the concept through their own individual experience where they found themselves forced to either postpone their plans or create an alternative plan. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some art pieces already produced some years ago; The art piece of Nawar Haidar (produced in 2012) express the absurdity of his waiting since 2012 till these moments.
